This seminar series aims to provide participants with an overview of some of the latest IT law issues and developments. Every session focuses on a different topic and will be conducted by a variety of leading practitioners and academics in the relevant field, who will deliver presentations and participate in a Q&A discussion with opportunities for participants to pose questions.

Ng Song Yeong is Deputy Director at the Digital Strategy Office in the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), where he helps develop strategies and policies for anticipating and responding to the challenges and opportunities brought about by digital technology and its uses. Current areas of interest include online trust and safety, and informational and epistemic security.
Prior to his current appointment, Song Yeong helped lead the advisory team at the Legal Services department in MCI, advising on regulatory, policy, and legislative matters in areas including cybersecurity, telecommunications, and legacy and new media. He was a member of the secretariat for the Committee of Inquiry into the Cyber Attack on SingHealth in 2018, and assisted in operations and crisis management for events such as the 2020 General Elections, and the COVID-19 crisis.
Rajesh Sreenivasan is a Partner and Head of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Law Practice at Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP and the Coordinating Partner for the firms’ multidisciplinary and cross-practice Data and Digital Economy (DDE) Legal Services. He is a Director and Co-founder of Rajah & Tann Technologies Pte Ltd and Rajah & Tann Cybersecurity Pte Ltd which are the Legaltech arms of Rajah & Tann Asia. With over 20 years in practice, he has been universally recognised as the leading technology, media and telecoms lawyer in Singapore by all major professional ranking agencies and noted as one of the top TMT lawyers the Asia Pacific region. Rajesh has been at the forefront of legal, regulatory and policy matters relating to technology procurement, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection, analytics and governance, telecommunications, electronic commerce, cloud computing, distributed ledger technologies, digital forensics and digital media in the region. He has since built a team of over 50 lawyers with significant depth
Rajesh has been working together with R&T’s Financial Regulatory practice in addressing the fast maturing area of FinTech in legal and regulatory work spanning across DeFi to Virtual currency regulatory issues. Rajesh serves on the AI Tech committee of the Singapore Standards Council and on the Board of Experts of the Singapore Management University Centre for AI and Data Governance (CAIDG) and the National University of Singapore Centre for Technology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & the Law (TRAIL). On the corporate front, he sits on the Board of MediaCorp, Singapore’s national broadcaster.
Internationally, he sits on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Legal Innovation, College of Law, Australia, the Advisory Board of the Future Privacy Forum (FPF), Washington, DC and is the Vice-Chairman of the Media Law Committee of the International Bar Association. On a pro-bono basis, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Sree Narayana Mission and as a member of the School Management Committee of Montfort Schools.
Rajesh plays a significant role in leading legal sector transformation and innovation initiatives at a national level with foundational work on Lupl, the world’s first open platform for legal matter management and collaboration. Today, Lupl powers the Legal Technology Platform (LTP), one of the key initiatives in MinLaw’s Technology and Innovation Roadmap for the legal sector. He has also been regularly ranked by international agencies, most recently, the FT Asia Pacific Innovative Lawyers Award 2023 and the Legal 500 South East Asia Awards 2023 for his role in innovation and thought leadership in Legaltech and innovative practices in Cybersecurity and Data Governance for Rajah & Tann Asia.
Rajesh is the only Singapore lawyer serving on the Legal Advisory Group to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) UK Centre for Digital Trade and Innovation. As an appointed member of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) OECD project, he contributes actively to the multinational initiative by providing a representative deep dive into Singapore’s legislations on Artificial Intelligence and brainstorming on innovative best practices in complying with global regulatory guidelines.
He is the co-author of the Hansard Banking Volume 12 (2022) on electronic banking issues and is a contributing author to “Law and Technology in Singapore”, Singapore Academy of Law (2022).
In his free time, Rajesh builds PC’s, generates NFT’s and AI inspired artwork on Stable Diffusion with his son.
Nicholas Seng (LLB, CIPP/A, CIPP/E) is an Associate General Counsel at Meta Platforms (formerly known as Facebook) where he leads its Cybersecurity Law and Investigation team for the Asia-Pacific region. Nicholas graduated Summa Cum Laude (1st Class Hons) from the Singapore Management University and was called to the Singapore Bar. He served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor and State Counsel in Singapore’s Attorney-General’s Chambers, Financial and Technology Crimes Division, where he acted as counsel in several landmark criminal cases. Thereafter, he practiced in top-tier American and Singapore law firms specializing in data protection, commercial dispute resolution and corporate investigations work for Fortune 500 companies in the technology, life sciences, and financial sectors across the Asia Pacific region. Mr Paul McClelland specialises in intellectual property law and commercial dispute resolution. Before joining IPOS International Pte Ltd, Paul was sole corporate counsel for a well-known Singaporean brand, where he was responsible for a broad range of commercial matters, including worldwide trademark registrations and oppositions, management of external counsel, contract review, and training.
He has experience working in private practice for both Singapore and Scottish law firms. His practice focused on intellectual property and commercial arbitration.
He also taught commercial law, intellectual property and real estate law at a Scottish university.
